About

I've spent my career moving up the stack of the technology industry.

I started in IT in 2000 — supporting hardware, networks, and phone systems — and grew into database administration, then software development as a lead developer, and now cloud architecture and full-stack web development. That long arc is what I bring that most people can't: I've worked at nearly every layer, so I can see how the pieces fit together.

I founded Fortius Technology in 2012 as my independent consulting practice. It's a one-person shop by design — you work with me directly, from first conversation to final deployment. No handoffs.

Over the last few years I've committed fully to modern cloud and web development, earning both AWS Associate certifications and putting them to work on real client systems. I'm currently open to remote contract, contract-to-hire, and full-time roles, alongside select consulting work.

2012 – 2018

Infrastructure & Managed Services

Delivered managed IT and infrastructure support for multiple businesses through an RMM platform — deployments, alerting, patching, and day-to-day reliability across distributed systems.

2018 – 2022

Application Development

Built and maintained custom business applications and internal automation tools, and designed and administered the databases behind them.

2023 – Present

Cloud & Full-Stack Engineering

Modernized fully into cloud and modern web development. Earned the AWS Solutions Architect (2025) and Developer (2026) Associate certifications, and now deliver AWS architecture, CI/CD, and full-stack work for clients.

2025 – Present

AWS solutions-architecture engagements for a range of businesses — translating requirements into scalable, cost-aware designs with documentation a team can build from.

Designed AWS infrastructures, network plans (VPC / subnet / CIDR), and CI/CD pipeline architectures.
Evaluated and documented trade-offs across ingestion and processing patterns — serverless, streaming, containerized, and event-decoupled designs.
Worked across EC2, ECS, ECR, S3, SQS, RDS, Lambda, and API Gateway.

IoT Platform Infrastructure

Leak Gopher

2025

Architected the AWS infrastructure and CI/CD behind Leak Gopher, an in-home water-leak-detection hardware company — including their live e-commerce store.

Designed the device-event ingestion architecture for thousands of distributed IoT receivers.
Built the EC2 / Amazon ECR / GitHub Actions pipeline and a NeonDB (serverless PostgreSQL) data layer powering business logic and the online store.

Full-Stack Web Application

Personal project

Built and deployed a full-stack TanStack / TypeScript application on AWS, end to end.

Containerized with Docker and Amazon ECR, with automated CI/CD via GitHub Actions.
Event-driven intake pipeline (API Gateway → SQS → worker); re-architected from a single EC2 + pm2 setup to a multi-container Docker deployment.
